In a burst of flames, Kira appeared in the Manor living room. Holding her athame down near her hip, she glanced about the room. Voices could be heard from the direction of the kitchen; it was the Sisters. Also, muffled sounds emanated from upstairs. That must be where the others were. Kira trained her ear to listen to all sounds, trying to weed out the small child.
She was kind of making this up as she went along, running in blindly, without much plan of attack. All she really cared about was getting Carnell back on her side. His rightful side. She wasn't about to let some witch snatch him away that easily. A plan was turning over in her mind on how to unbind his powers; granted, killing the witch would do just that and though she had all the confidence in the world that her plan would work, she still needed a back up.
She also realized that whatever she did, she would have to be extremely careful. Things werent as they used to be. There were four times as many witches in the Manor than there were years ago which meant anyone weak or without power wouldnt be left alone or unchaperoned. She wasnt stupid. Kira knew the witches would guard the child---and Carnell---with their lives. Just to capture the child without much effort would be an accomplishment. All she had to do was lure her away from the rest of the family. But how?
Kira froze where she was; her lean body tensed up and her grip on the knife tightened. Someone was coming down the stairs. From the sound of it, it was a slender young girl. She didn't smell of Halliwell blood but she had the stench of it all over her. She reeked of Whitelighter. Kira tried not to gag; Whitelighters were one of the purest forms of Good and it made her sick to her Evil stomach. Kira ducked behind the wall that obstructed her from view of the staircase.
